Mazda MX 5 Miata Expected to Receive Extreme Makeover in 2012

Mazda Mx 5 Miata

The MX-5 Miata will take a radical new direction when it is redesigned in 2012, Mazda designers say.

That’s bold talk considering the success the MX-5 has enjoyed. The first generation became the world’s best selling sports car, and the current iteration debuted in 2006 to strong reviews.

Now Mazda designers admit the last redesign was too conservative. The basic formula of a no frills roadster will remain untouched, but the delivery should be a complete departure from the past.

Before the new Miata comes out, the current MX-5 will receive a mild refresh.

We have had three Miatas and one could not ask for more;;;Nothing to change, except styling...Return, once again to the old style sports cars...this time go the great looks of the Austin Healey....Chrome, flowing fenders, wood dashes, low slung back ends,,,maybe real wire spoke wheels....
