Though he said nearly nothing about it, Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles revealed the first picture of the new Dodge Durango R/T at the L.A. Auto Show today.
We still know very little about the R/T, beyond the obvious. As the "sporty" version of the new Durango, the R/T will have a proper suspension for aggressive street driving and likely more power. Right now, the top engine available in the Durango is a 360-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8, but it's likely the R/T will offer more. How much more? Well, Dodge does have a new 6.4-liter V-8 with 470 horsepower that just debuted in the Challenger, but we don't know if it'll find its way to the Durango yet.
What we know for certain is what we can see in this first teaser pic. To no one's surprise, Dodge has outfitted the R/T with a more aggressive front fascia with a big lip spoiler. The rig also features a mono-chromatic scheme with the chrome bits all painted body color, including the mirrors and grille surround. The truck also appears to ride lower on big, new wheels.
Hopefully, we'll learn more about the new Durango R/T soon, but for now, what do you think?
