Lexus has only officially released one teaser image of the car, but images of the new CT200h compact -- apparently cribbed from a sales brochure -- have made their way online before the official reveal at the Geneva motor show.
Frankly, what we see here isn’t anything shocking, especially if you saw the LF-ch concept at last year’s Frankfurt show. Sadly, some of the show car’s aggressive lines, especially in the front fascia, were lost in translation. From some angles, the CT resembles a five-door IS -- albeit one that shrunk ever so slightly in the wash. Power purportedly comes from a 1.8-liter I-4, and since that little “h” is Lexus-speak for “hybrid,” it’s paired with an electric motor to drive the front wheels. We’ve yet to see fuel economy numbers or performance data, but images leaked contain copy which describes the system as “powerful.” If it’s anything like the 1.8-liter I-4 and hybrid system installed in the Prius, expect the duo to produce somewhere around 134 net hp. We expect to learn these final specifications, along with other details pertaining to the CT200h at next week’s Geneva motor show.
