Lexus Brings Four Customized IS 350 Cs to 2009 SEMA Show

Lexus' IS 350C may be brand-new, but no less than four customized examples are set to appear at the 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Apart from dipping the convertible in "Foxy Green" paint, the folks at Fox Marketing have moved the IS C to a performance level comparable to an IS F. The stock 3.5-liter V-6 is retained, but thanks to a supercharger and revised intake and exhaust systems, the six-cylinder produces 405 hp, nearly 100 more than a stock IS C. The flared front fenders are cribbed from an IS F, as are the large brakes that lurk underneath the matte-black 20-inch rims.

VIP Auto Salon took a slightly more subtle route to modifying its IS C. With a mere $15,000 investment (small money in the wacky world of SEMA vehicles), the car sports mild cosmetic enhancements, and virtually no performance tweaks. The IS C now sports a custom Katzkin leather interior, while the exterior is painted in Matador Red and offset by a carbon fiber hood and deck lid. VIP did install a full cat-back exhaust system, and tweaked the engine computer for a little more power.

0-60 Magazine and Design Craft Fabrication have a performance machine on their hands. Their IS C sports a Greddy exhaust, custom engine management system, and a gaggle of performance gauges inside. Larger Brembo brakes are covered by lightweight Advan black wheels, and are supported by a custom KW coilover suspension.

Toyota's own in-house performance tuner - Toyota Racing Development - also had its way with an IS C, and threw the entire F-Sport performance catalog at the car. The upgraded brakes, suspension kit, and 19-inch wheels come directly from the TRD parts bin. Orange Glow candy paint was applied to the exterior along with a full body kit.
