The age-old Camaro-versus-Mustang battle rages on, as GM prepares the 2013 Camaro ZL1 Convertible for launch. Now, the drop-top version of the heavy-hitting bowtie has received a price tag, as Motor Trend’s Detroit editor Todd Lassa revealed on his Twitter feed that the car will start at $60,445, including destination.

The 2013 Chevrolet ZL1 convertible uses the same 580-hp, 556-lb-ft supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 of its fixed-roof stablemate, and also gets the same Magnetic Ride Control suspension system. In addition to this equipment, the convertible model receives chassis bracing components like an underhood strut tower brace, front suspension “X” brace, and rear “V” braces to stiffen the drop-top version.

The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE package was also priced recently, with a 1LE-equipped Camaro 1SS with manual transmission starting at $37,035. The package is intended to improve upon the Camaro SS’ handling, and is priced to undercut its closest competitor, the 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302, by a fair margin. That package adds an array of suspension upgrades, including a number of ZL1-sourced parts, to the standard SS’ equipment list. Watch the Camaro 1LE round VIR here.

The 2013 Camaro ZL1 convertible and 2013 Camaro 1LE coupe go on sale later this year.
