The McLaren MP4-12C made headlines as the first new model to emerge from the company best known for the F1 supercar and the tuned Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. To introduce the American public to the MP4-12C, McLaren will embark on a roadshow to display its 592-horsepower coupe.

Before relaunching in the U.S., McLaren took care to reestablish its presence here. After establishing a New York headquarters and designating dealers charged with selling the MP4-12C, as well as setting up an online configurator for the MP4-12C, McLaren is set to begin selling its supercar in the U.S. as early as next summer.

But before that, like a well-respected European celebrity, the MP4-12C will be given the grand tour of some of America's wealthiest markets. The launch tour officially began at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California, followed by a stop in Beverly Hills. The North American rollout will continue the first weekend in September, when the MP4-12C is unveiled in Toronto; subsequently, the eight dealers already selected to sell the MP4-12C will display the vehicle.

Stops are set to include Chicago, Ill.; Dallas, Texas; Greenwich, Conn.; San Francisco, Calif.; and Tampa Bay and Miami, Fla. Although dealers have not yet been finalized in Philadelphia, Pa., and Orange County, Calif., the MP4-12C will likely be shown there as well.

An extensive rollout like this one, which will include meet-and-greet time with members of the team that gave life to the MP4-12C, will give prospective customers the opportunity to see the coupe whose first two years' production might already be spoken for.

Dates have not been announced for specific dealerships, aside from the Toronto unveiling, but if you're interested in seeing the MP4-12C in the flesh, we suggest queueing up early in one the launch city closest to you.
