Jeremy Clarkson Takes to Twitter to Confirm Top Gear Delay Rumors

Jeremy Clarkson took to twitter to confirm rumors that the next season of “Top Gear” would be delayed until January 2013. The rumors began to swirl after an interview with Clarkson on BallzRadio, a South African sports and entertainment news site.

Fortunately, the Top Gear Christmas Special hasn’t been canceled. Clarkson continued tweeting saying that the cast “would love to be back in the autumn, but Sunday nights then will be full of fat people singing.” Another tweet seemed to confirm that Simon Cowell’s new BBC singing competition show has bumped “Top Gear” from its regularly scheduled slot, saying “Top Gear” wasn’t as big as Cowell.

Clarkson says the delay will give extra time to produce better episodes for the January return of “Top Gear.” Watch the interview below, but skip to about 8:12 to hear Clarkson reveal the bad news.
