Scuttled somewhat in the hubbub of Chrysler's other new models is the 2011 Jeep Patriot, which also receives a few minor upgrades for the new model year.

Keen eyes can distinguish the new Patriot from the outgoing model with the 2011 Jeep's body-color grille and repositioned fog lights. Front and rear fascias have been redone and new 17-inch wheels are available.

While the Patriot's exterior has been revised, it's really the interior that needed the most work. To that end, there are improved materials on the center armrest, door trim panels, and new cloth seats -- similar changes those applied to its cousin, the Dodge Caliber.

That said, the redesign is more than is more than just skin deep. Four-wheel-drive models have a one-inch increase in ride height, while both the suspension and steering systems have been retuned.

Jeep says the touch points in the interior are significantly upgraded and we're looking forward to testing that claim. Backlighting on door switches, windows, and power mirror controls is also new, as is the multifunction steering wheel.

There's no mention of any powertrain changes, though with Chrysler releasing information on the Jeep Patriot, Fiat 500 Sport, new Chrysler 200C, and 2011 Chrysler Town & Country today, the automaker may have more in store for us in the weeks to come. Stay tuned.
