If you wince every time your passenger gustofully slams the door of your pride and joy, tell them the Scion tC air bag story. That'll learn 'em.
Toyota recently announced that it would recall about 30,000 Scion tCs, because the side air bags might deploy if someone closes the door too hard. They've logged seventeen complaints on this issue, but luckily no one has been injured yet.
Still, this sounds pretty freakin' scary to me. And does it take an Ahnuld-type, hinge-bending slam, or could a more fairylike effort set off the safety pillows just the same?
What other frightening recalls can you think of?
