Hyundai HED-6 SUV Concept to bow at Geneva Motor Show

Here is a teaser sketch of the latest concept from Hyundai's Russelsheim, Germany-based European design center. The company is calling it the HED-6 concept and it will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Last year, in Geneva, Hyundai showed us the egg-shaped HED-5 MPV concept. Much like the HED-5, the HED-6 showcases a dramatic exterior. The concept will feature a hexagonal grille, LED running lights, angular style lines and "piercing" back-swept front headlamps.

The 3D shape of the HED-6's rear window will be accomplished by implementing Lexan plastic instead of conventional glass. The concept will debut in a special 'Ice Blue' exterior paint and its bold look will be completed by a set of 21-inch, mirror-polished wheels.

Under the hood, the HED-6 will be powered by a 1.6-liter GDi turbocharged engine that makes 175 horsepower. It will debut along with the tiny i20 hatchback and the efficient i30 blue in Geneva on March 3rd. Hyundai says the concept's design could hint at a replacement for Hyundai's current compact SUV, the Tuscan.
