October's compact sales trends carried over into November, with just one finishing-order swap in the compact car sales race. The Honda Civic retained its sales lead in November, with its 26,291 units sold besting the Toyota Corolla, with just 22,434 units sold.
The Chevrolet Cruze played third fiddle to the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla again, with 18,200 units sold. That put it a spot ahead of the Hyundai Elantra (16,751 units sold), which jumped from fifth place to fourth, pushing the Ford Focus back a spot with 15,239 units sold.
The rest of November 2013's compact car sales looked much the same as October's. Combined sales of the Volkswagen Jetta and Jetta Sportwagen (12,417 units sold) but the Volkswagen in sixth place again, and the Nissan Sentra ate into the Jetta's lead with 11,664 units sold. The Mazda3 came in eighth again, with just 7756 cars sold. The Dodge Dart posted gains, with 6486 sedans sold, enough for ninth place. The combined sales of the Subaru Impreza and outgoing Impreza WRX/STI allowed Subaru to crack the top 10, with 5274 cars sold.
The Kia Forte , with 4423 sold, and the Volkswagen Golf, with 2243 cars finding homes, rounded out the compact sales trends chart.
