Hennessey Performance has followed up on its original announcement and revealed details of four performance upgrade kits for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The options comprise two supercharger packages and a pair of twin-turbocharged setups.

The standard 6.2-liter V-8 engine in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette produces 455 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, or 460 hp and 465 lb-ft if equipped with the optional performance exhaust. That's enough for the Corvette Stingray to hit 60 mph in as little as 3.8 seconds.

The first Hennessey Performance upgrade kit, called HPE600, promises to increase the engine's output figure to 600 hp. The package includes a supercharger, a new intake and exhaust, a five-point racing harness, and new carbon-fiber body add-ons. Stepping up to the HPE700 kit adds a ported cylinder head, a more aggressive camshaft, and new headers to bump power to a claimed 700 hp. The kit can be fitted on cars with either the seven-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic, and includes a new engine computer.

Customers who want even more power can step up to the HPE800 package. The Corvette's engine is balanced and polished, and equipped with a pair of turbochargers and a large intercooler. Along with a new exhaust, new intakes, new pistons and connecting rods, and a stronger crankshaft, the kit can help the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette produce 800 hp. Hennessey also offers a 1000-hp version of that package, called the HPE1000, which adds electronic turbocharger boost control.

"We're only interested in changes that deliver a measurable increase in performance, period," company founder John Hennessey said in a statement.

Other upgrades that can be bought separately include Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, leather or carbon fiber interior trim, a Penske adjustable suspension, more carbon-fiber body add-ons, and Hennessey Monoblock wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Hennessey Performance says that it will also offer too lower-power upgrades kits for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette at a later date. The HPE500 kit will be naturally aspirated and the HPE600 version will have a less-powerful supercharger.

Hennessey Performance expects to put these upgrade packages on sale by October.
