The Scion FR-S is a hit in the sports car market, which means dozens of tuners and aftermarket parts manufacturers are already working on tweaks and other upgrades. Wish you could have a hand in those efforts? Lucky for you, tuning house Stillen is looking to its fanbase to design the body kit for the new Scion.
Stillen is essentially crowdsourcing its new Scion FR-S body kit by way of a design contest. The idea is simple: download Stillen's templates, draw your dream aero kit with either your computer or your favorite drawing instrument, and submit it before the deadline. Stillen's design team will choose the top five challengers, and then post the images to Facebook, where the winner will be decided by a public vote.
If your design clears both rounds of scrutiny, you'll win a ticket to the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association, two night's lodging in Las Vegas during the show, and bragging rights, because Stillen will manufacture your dream kit and sell it to the general public to put on their FR-Ss. If you want a kit of your own, however, you'll have to write Stillen a check.
Competitors can submit one or more angles, which means they can design individual pieces (front splitter, side skirts, and rear valances on either side of the stock diffuser) or go for an all-around design that encompasses all of them.
The contest starts now, and you'll have to submit your final designs to Stillen by the August 14th deadline. You can download templates and learn more by going here. Then fire up your Photoshop (or sharpen your pencils) and get drawing.
