While we wouldn’t exactly call the stock Lamborghini Murciélago underpowered, Heffner Performance felt the big Lambo couldn’t be improved with some extra boost. Two turbochargers (and 14.5 psi of boost) later, their tweaked Murciélago pumps out a whopping 1100 hp.
Heffner Performance hasn’t released 0 to 60 mph figures for the car – likely because they’re not exactly stellar. With 1100 hp on tap, off-the-line traction will inherently suffer, no matter how good Lamborghini’s all-wheel-drive system is.
Once the car is up to speed, however, the force-fed Lamborghini will leave almost anything in its dust. Heffner quote a 60 to 130 mph time of 5.1 seconds, and that was with power dialed back to a “reasonable” 950 hp. With all 1100 ponies, Heffner says the car will perform the run in under 4 seconds. Before the turbochargers, the car took 9.5 seconds to do the same.
As the adage goes, if you have to ask how much the turbocharged Murciélago runs, you can’t afford it. Heffner doesn’t list a price for the car (the sole example is up for grabs), but seeing as Murciélagos command nearly $300,000 when brand new, this mad bull isn’t going to be cheap.
