German tuners Hamann Motorsport call their new tuning kit for the Porsche Panamera “fascinating.” We are certainly fascinated by the idea that an owner would consider such a transformation for his or her own vehicle. While we admit taste is subjective, we’re not exactly blown away by the looks of the new Hamann Cyrano.
Hamann began by widening the Porsche’s fenders by 2.4 inches so new 22-inch wheels would fit. Then the company applied a new hood and front fascia with a multitude of giant air inlets, each reportedly designed to reduce aerodynamic lift and improve engine cooling. New side skirts, a large rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing also are said to help improve the Panamera’s aerodynamic properties -- as well as its visual appeal.
Mechanical meddling includes lowering springs to drop the car by 1.2 inches, and new exhaust and reflashed computer that add a claimed 80 hp and 89 lb-ft of torque to the turbocharged engine’s output.
Interior accouterments comprise new leather upholstery and Hamann aluminum pedals, designed to turn the cabin into a “Five-Star VIP Lounge.” Hamann can also bedeck your Panamera with any mix of leather, Alcantara, and embroidery your heart desires.
