What's next on Ferrari's engineering docket? Engineer a successor to the 612 Scaglietti, so it seems. One intrepid spy managed to capture what appears to be the company's next-generation four-seat gran turismo undergoing testing at the company's own test track in Italy.
Although the car shown seems to wear the skin of the current 612 Scaglietti, it's likely only to throw industrial spies for a loop. The videographers claim it's actually a development mule for the 612's replacement, which is reportedly code-named F151. We've no specifications on the car, but judging by that exhaust note, this V-12 (possibly with direct injection), it's an absolute screamer.
We hope to learn more about the finished project, as the F151 is tentatively scheduled to launch sometime in 2011. In the meanwhile, ogle this video and listen to that shriek as the disguised Ferrari test mule rips past.
