Ford hopes it has a hit on its hands with its new 2011 Fiesta, but to help spread the word on the compact hatchback, the automaker is giving one to Funkmaster Flex to customize on his new TV show, "Funk Flex Full Throttle."
Flex, a legendary DJ and avid car buff, will dedicate one episode of his program to working over the new Fiesta. After it’s tricked out and showcased on the show, the car will be given away to one lucky viewer. What the finished product will look like remains to be seen. Ford and Flex say it will receive a custom body kit, new wheels and tires, a lowered suspension, and a two-tone paint job.
“The Fiesta is definitely a vehicle that has major customization potential but also can stand on its own without having to do anything to it at all,” said Flex. “Whoever wins this vehicle is going to be hitting the streets in a mean vehicle that has some serious technology on the inside. Ford really got it poppin’ with this vehicle and showed how you can take a small vehicle and push it to the next level.”
The partnership between Flex and Ford is, of course, nothing new. We’ve seen him trick out a 2008 Ford Expedition (which actually went into limited production), a 2009 Flex, and a 2010 Taurus SHO. We’re interested to see what the Funkmaster has in store for the Fiesta.
