Ford Econetic Fiesta

Ford introduced a very fuel efficient version of the Fiesta. The Econetic Fiesta can get up to 76 mpg on the imperial combined cycle, and over 88 mpg on the highway from its 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine.

The new Fiesta has been substantially modified for maximum fuel economy. It features new rear air deflectors, lowered suspension, low rolling resistance tires, and a modified computer. Ford reminds you to drive economically with a green shift light that tells the driver the optimal time to change gears to maximize fuel economy.

Notably, the fuel-sipping Ford also has low CO2 emissions of 98g/km, making it the most environmentally friendly Econetic Ford product.

The eco-friendly Ford goes on sale in the United Kingdom towards the end of the year for just under $24,000.

It never ceases to amaze me that Ford of Europe produces such feature-laden and desirable cars that more than hold their own against stiff European and Japanese competition. The sooner such products start showing up over here, the better: we could most certainly the mix of refreshing styling, features, HP and MPG these Euro (and some Aussie) Fords offer.

We badly need this thing in US. It can turbocharged Ford's bottom line as well. Why not bring this to U.S. I would, the fastest the better because demand is there and why give all the fun to Toyota???To Ford Management, Why not use the same concept on the F 150? and try to squeeze 40 MPG?
