Ford will round out its display at next week's Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas with six modified pickup trucks, including Ford F-150, F-250, and F-350 models.
The first SEMA-bound truck is a Ford F-150 upgraded by Fatal Clothing. The group gave the truck's 6.2-liter V-8 engine a supercharger and a new exhaust, bolstering engine performance to 650 hp. On the outside, a black-and-white paint scheme works in tandem with 24-inch wheels from DUB, and green-painted brake calipers. Inside the cabin, Fatal Clothing installed a Katzkin leather interior embroidered with the company's logo.
Skyjacker Suspensions applied a six-inch lift kit to their Ford F-150, along with larger wheels and BFGoodrich off-road tires. A TruckVault locking storage compartment is designed to hold anything from fishing rods to hunting guns, while aftermarket bumpers from Fab Fours include a winch.
JR Consulting designed its Ford F-150 after consulting social-media fans of The Sportsman Channel, and added upgrades that appealed to drivers who hunt, fish, hike, and camp in the great outdoors. The Ford F-150 scores a six-inch lift kit, custom off-road bumpers and flared fenders, an 11,000-pound winch, and off-road wheels and tires. A TruckVault locking storage system, a brush guard, a light bar, and a Maxxsonics audio system complete the transformation.
Hulst Customs decided to enhance a Ford F-250 by adding Banks Power components to its 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine. Twenty-two-inch wheels, Falken tires, a two-tone leather interior treatment, and additional exterior chrome trim rounds out the visual changes.
The folks at EcoTrek apparently dislike gas stations, as they equipped their Ford F-350 with a 50-gallon fuel tank beneath the bed and another removable 75-gallon tank inside the truck's bed. All told, the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 can run for 1800 miles without refueling, and modifications allow the engine to run on diesel, biodiesel, or algae-based biodiesel. Atop the truck is an emergency shelter, as well as provisions like sleeping bags, backpacks, solar panels, and a stove. A nine-inch lift kit and 20-inch wheels allow the Ford F-350 to tackle any terrain -- for 1800 miles at a time.
Tuners Cars by Kris went in a different direction with the Ford F-350, upfitting it with luxury touches like bronze 22-inch wheels, hexagon-stitched leather seats, painted interior trim, and additional sound insulation. The 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 engine receives a new intake, exhaust, and water-methanol injection system for extra power.
At next week's SEMA show, Ford will also show off modified Transit Connect vans, Fiesta ST hatchbacks, Fusion sedans, Focus ST hatchbacks, and Mustang GT coupes.
