Ford has designed a new and free software application for iPhone and iPod Touch users. Called Flex Photo Lab, the app works as a sort of mini-photo shop for editing and altering photos that users have on their iPhones and iPod Touches.

What's the Ford connection? It's being released to coincide with the sale of the new Ford Flex crossover vehicle. "Flex consumers love new technology, and we know that a lot of them have iPhones, so we wanted to offer them a free application that is both a cool and useful tool," said Usha Raghavachari, the marketing communications manager for Ford's crossover division. The app allows users to alter aspects of a photo like brightness, colors, solar flares, and even burn or dodge sections of the photo. "There are only a handful of applications out there that provide users with these unique filters, and ours is free," said Raghavachari. The app also has a feature called "Discover Flex" which gives users a 360- degree tour of the vehicle and provides information on the Flex. There is also a "Locate the Flex" feature which uses the iPhone Mapping app to help users find their nearest Ford dealer. To download the application, access the App Store via the iTunes program.
