First Glance: Zagato's Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa Concept

When Zagato let slip that it was working on a new Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa concept car for the Villa D'Este Concours d'Elegance later this month, we couldn't help but wonder what such a car would look like. Now, we have our first idea.

The general form of the Alfa TZ3 Corsa appears to follow the general proportions and styling cues of the legendary TZ1 and TZ2 racers of the mid-1960s well, with a long, low-slung nose and trademark Alfa grille. At the rear of the TZ3 Corsa, the three-window look of the original TZ1 is emulated as is a Kamm-style 'coda trunca' tail.

While details remain sparse, Zagato has announced that the TZ3 Corsa has been commissioned by a German Alfa enthusiast and is built on a tubular carbon fiber chassis with a tubular frame and aluminum body. While not specifically stated, we suspect the car shares plenty of components with the 8C Competizione. The car is being built to celebrate Alfa Romeo's 100th birthday, as well as the storied partnership the Italian automaker has with Zagato.

We'll bring you more info after the car's official unveiling at Villa D'Este this weekend.
