BMW’s Mini brand announced late last year it would build and supply a test fleet of electric Mini Coopers. The time for deliveries to begin has come, and the first lessee took delivery of his car on Friday.
Peter Trepp of Los Angeles was, it seems, randomly selected to be the first Mini E customer to take delivery. He got the car May 22 after taking his first test drive the day prior.
Trepp has one of only 450 cars coming to the U.S., bound for either New York City or Los Angeles. Another 50 Mini Es are destined for the streets of Berlin, Germany.
Trepp’s car is numbered 111, a number he thinks is very fitting for the first customer car. He is so far completely enamored with his Mini. He is keeping everyone up to date with his experience via his blog, www.petersminie.blogspot.com.
