Find New Roads with Chevrolet - GM Retires Chevy Runs Deep

"Chevy Runs Deep" may not have won the automaker any fans, but GM has decided to replace it with one tagline worldwide: "Find New Roads." GM says the brand's global sales have gone up by 38 percent since the compact Cruze launched in 2009, and now the brand has a new slogan to use at the end of its ads.

While the previous slogan hinted at the automaker’s heritage, the automaker’s new tagline is the first that will be used worldwide, representing one “global vision.”

The move seems to mirror Ford’s One Ford plan, and in the U.S. We’ll first see use of the slogan in the first quarter of this year before being rolled out in the rest of the world.

“The theme has meaning in mature markets like the U.S. as well as emerging markets like Russia and India, where the potential for continued growth is the greatest,” said Alan Batey, vice president, U.S. Sales, Service and Global Marketing, in a release.

Last year, Ford replaced its “Drive One” slogan for “Go Further,” and Toyota changed its tagline from “Moving Forward” to “Going Places.” What do you think of Chevrolet's new tagline?

With the exception of Chrysler, the American automakers have some of the absolute worst marketing I've ever seen.  They seem intent on attracting as many older people as possible the their brand, even though everyone's marketing target should be twenty- and thirty-somethings.  And Ford......Mike Rowe.....really?  When was that guy ever cool?
