Feline, Meet Turbine: Jaguar Presents C-X75 Concept in Paris

Automobile Staff

What do diesel fuel, micro-turbines, and an indicated top speed of 205 mph have in common? They're all part of the spec sheet on the Jaguar C-X75 concept car unveiled today at the Paris Motor Show.

The C-X75 moniker represents an experimental concept meant to recognize Jaguar's 75th anniversary. The coupe is unlike any Jaguar we've seen recently, and the C-X75 is a technology showcase for the brand. The extended-range electric vehicle is powered by a combined effort between four electric motors and the micro-turbines that recharge them, giving it over 750 horsepower and over 1000 pound-feet of torque -- plus a 68-mile EV range.

The interior is also notably futuristic, and features space-age gauges and data monitors. Although our sources indicate that the C-X75 itself is not likely for production, expect some of the technologies featured on the show car to appear in future Jags.
