Mini previously showed us a modified Countryman S All4 John Cooper Works attempting a backflip, but cheated us with a cliffhanger ending. Now, we finally get to see the landing, as the compact crossover performs the jump again in snowy Tignes, France.
This particular Countryman JCW doesn’t look so mini anymore, with a lifted suspension and modifications similar to the rally-prepped X-Raid cars campaigned in this year’s 14-day Dakar rally. The crossover is again piloted by rally driver Guerlain Chicherit, whose pro skiing expertise comes in handy for this stunt.
We first see Chicherit revving the Countryman’s engine and staring at the ramp. The vehicle then accelerates toward and launches off the jump, getting perpendicular to the ground before tumbling end over end in slow-motion. The Mini completes a little more than a full rotation and lands rear wheels-first on a snow-covered hill. After the Mini and sponsor logos flash, the stunt is shown at normal speed, with the added soundtrack of the crew cheering as the Countryman touches down.
