You can stop watching the teaser videos already: The new 2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta - the successor to the aging 599 GTB Fiorano - was finally finally unveiled this morning.
We have the full story available in our First Look piece (available by clicking here), but here's a quick rundown. Not only is the F12 lighter than the outgoing 599 GTB, it's also far more powerful. A new 6.3-liter V-12 sends 730 horsepower and 508 lb-ft of torque to a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle.
That's a lot of power, and enough to crown the F12 Berlinetta as the most powerful road-going Ferrari - at least for now. For those keeping score, the 599 GTB packs 600 hp and 448 lb-ft of torque, while the 599 GTO offers 660 hp and 494 lb-ft of torque. Impressively, the F12 is even more powerful than the original (i.e. pre-Evoluzione) version of the race-spec 599xx, which boasted 720 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque.
Ferrari expects the 2013 F12 Berlinetta to sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds, and hit a top speed of over 211 mph. Add an optional start/stop system, and the car can even deliver a 30-percent improvement in fuel economy when compared to the 599 - assuming, of course, you can keep you right foot off the floorboard.
