Feature Flick: The Making of the Aston Martin CC100 Speedster

Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Video Snapshot
It took Aston Martin six months to transform early sketches of the CC100 Speedster concept into a full-size, running concept car – but, thanks to the magic of this well-shot video, you can watch the entire metamorphosis in four and a half minutes.
Although scant on precise details, this video does illustrate the entire process. Sketches show the DBR1 influence was evident early on. Both men and machine whittle away at a full-size clay model, that’s ultimately Dy-Noc’ed in an interesting silver and yellow paint scheme. That model was used to form the carbon fiber bodywork for the running concept car, which is built on a modified VH platform.
It’s a bit surreal to see CC100 sitting atop a chassis dyno at Aston’s factory in Gaydon, but it’s even better to watch – and hear – a test driver launch the car at full throttle. See for yourself – just push play below.
