One might think that adding an air suspension, WiFi connectivity, an eight-speed transmission, and power locking cargo boxes to the 2013 Ram 1500 would make it a great pickup truck, and you're probably right. But Ram's marketing team came up with a few video spots that suggest that the truck itself is more than just the sum of its parts.
The advertising campaign is called Moving Heaven and Earth, and it's primarily focused on the 2013 Ram 1500's biggest new gas-saving and comfort features. Its available Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine and eight-speed transmission increase the fuel economy, and its uConnect touch screen brings together navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Sirius Travel Link, with real-time sports scores, gas prices, and weather reports.
How do you communicate that to the average viewer? The advertisers decided to pump up the hyperbole, letting the 2013 Ram 1500 shift tectonic plates, rearrange the stars, and flatten mountains at will. While we can't promise that purchasing your own 2013 Ram 1500 will instigate anything earth-shattering or astronomical, but its optional 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine does make a healthy 395 horsepower, which should allow you to outrun just about anything short of a supreme being.
Check out the spots below and let us know what you think.
