The boys are back! Top Gear is back for its 17th season and the BBC has released a quick 30 second teaser of what we can expect from Jeremy, Richard, and James over the course of this next season.
The trailer starts with clips of Jeremy Clarkson tearing up and down a wet Top Gear test track in an orange McLaren MP4-12C, followed by James May riding shotgun in a Mini World Rally Car in the snow. From the looks of it, May is racing a woman skeleton slider from the top of the course to the bottom; much like him and Hammond raced a Bob Sled team in an earlier season.
The commercial continues with Richard Hammond running cars over in his “town car,” which looks to be some-sort of Dartz armored truck; the same Russian Dartz known for upholstering cars with bits of whale penis. Then, the trailer finishes off with Clarkson in a Citroën DS3 Racing, lapping Monte Carlo with Bernie Ecclestone, president of Formula 1 who was obviously having a bit of trouble with his seatbelt. The shot then cuts out just in time for us to see Clarkson’s Citroën being tailed by a Renault Clio RS and Fiat Abarth 500C around the famed Formula 1 track.
For those lucky enough to be across the pond, Top Gear returns Sunday, June 26 on BBC 2. Us Americans though? We’re probably going to have to wait until it airs on BBC America this fall.
