Feature Flick: Renault Twingo R.S. Narrowly Escapes Killing a Fish

#Renault

Read the warning label at the beginning of today's Feature Flick and you'll find that "no animals were harmed in the making of this film." That's good, because the following two minutes get awfully close to sacrificing a goldfish in the pursuit of speed and…well, silliness, it seems.

The video in question is Renault's second "Challenge Us If You Can" video, part of a series where Renault test drives the new Twingo R.S. in situations dreamed up by its Facebook fans. The first video followed Renault as it attempted to play automotive bowling. The car scored a spare and strike, and Renault declared it a success.

This time around, Renault upped the ante. It gave a passenger named Jenny an open-topped fishbowl, filled it with water and a fish named Red Bubulle, strapped Jenny into the Twingo R.S., and told driver Margot Lafitte to hustle the hot hatchback around the Nurburgring. The goal became pretty obvious: hold the bowl steady for just over 14 miles, or you're going to end up with a dehydrated goldfish and a soaked torso.

In the end, Red Bubulle seemed to survive the Nordschleife's legendary 154 corners, although we're crying foul – the seems to bowl have the same amount of water in it at the end of the lap as it did at the beginning, despite some huge splashes along the way. But it's good to know that the Twingo R.S.'s suspension setup isn't murderously stiff.
