We're not headline-spamming you, people: today's Feature Flick does feature a 2014 Nissan GT-R, a fighter jet, and a runway. We think you know where this is headed: an epic drag race.
The video comes courtesy of Nissan and Germany's N-Magazine, which staged the race. In one lane, we have the 2014 Nissan GT-R, which features 545 horsepower thanks to a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 engine, a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. Crucially, the Nissan GT-R has a launch control function that tweaks parameters in the traction/stability control, all-wheel drive, and throttle/engine control unit to make it one of the fastest- accelerating cars on the market. 0-60 mph comes in less than three seconds.
In the other lane is an Oris Swiss Hunter Fighter Jet, powered by a 22,000-hp Rolls Royce jet engine. It's enough to propel the jet to a top speed of 714 mph, just shy of the sound barrier. The stage was set: both plane and car would accelerate as fast as possible for just under a mile (1500 meters, to be exact), at which point the Nissan GT-R would brake. The plane--as you might expect--would take off.
We won't spoil the results, so press play on the six-minute video below, then let us know what you think in the comments section.
