Feature Flick: Motor Trend's 11-Car, $1.5 Million Drag Race

For automotive journalists, our workdays are usually more about writing than driving expensive metal, but once in a while, some of us get the chance to do something epic. Case in point: our friends at Motor Trend, who just staged an eleven-car sports car drag race for the ages.

The race brought some of today’s best driver’s cars to the starting line, ranging from the $50,000 BMW 1 Series M Coupe to the $400,000 Lexus LFA. All told, the drag race brought together more than 5000 horsepower, 4000 lb-ft of torque, and $1.5 million of sports car. The winner, however…well, you’ll just have to watch the video.

Let us know what you think (and which car you’d put in your fantasy garage) in the comments below.

Its funny how they didn't include the ZR-1
wow, i knew the GTR was fast off the line but had NO IDEA it had such a sad trap for its ET. the next 5 cars all best it despite losing by a small amount at the quarter mile mark.
Very nice. My car of choice will be 458, of course. One day I would like to see another drage race with top supercars including Bugatti, Lamborghini. etc, etc.
Funny how many regular joe cars in the 25-35K range would be only 1 second or less behind that Lotus. LOL. You should have thrown in an Accord or Altima 6MT for fun.
