A modified Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will star in one of the summer's upcoming animated movies, "Turbo." In this new video, Chevrolet representatives discuss the car and what it means for the new DreamWorks movie.

The new movie "Turbo" follows the story of an eponymous snail with a desire for speed. One day, he's sucked into the supercharger of a sports car and finds himself transformed with super powers. Turbo eventually competes in various races and fulfills his dream of being a professional race car driver -- and entering the Indy 500. The 3-D movie features the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Snoop Lion, Maya Rudolph, Michelle Rodriguez, and Samuel L. Jackson.

To partner with the movie, General Motors built a one-off 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Chevrolet has displayed the car at several auto shows and IndyCar races, and it will be present at the movie's premiere in New York City next month. The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has a giant supercharger which is claimed to help the car produce 700 hp; a stock ZL1 extracts 580 hp from its supercharger 6.2-liter V-8 engine. The car is also decked out with giant wheels, flared fenders, an enormous racing-style front splitter, a giant rear wing, quad exhaust tips, and LED halo rings for the head- and foglights that cycle between red, green, and blue.

The modified Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 stars in the movie but also serves as a promotional tie-in, explains General Motors general director of branded content James Bell.

"It makes a car that kids will look at and think, 'That is just the coolest car I've ever seen, I want a Hot Wheels toy like that car,' as well as for the dads to say, 'A Camaro might be a nice addition to my driveway,'" Bell said.

"Turbo" is in theaters July 17. To learn more about the modified Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, check out the video below.
