What happens, when you mate ice cross (a sport combining ice skates with a downhill roller derby mentality) and water skiing? Well, in this feature flick the Red Bull Crashed Ice team hooks up to the back of a Mini Countryman for some frozen lake hooning.
Currently, the Mini Countryman is available in three flavors: Countryman, Countryman S, and Countryman S ALL4. The base Countryman is powered by a 121-hp naturally aspirated 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine. It comes in front-drive only with a six-speed manual transmission and available six-speed automatic. The Countryman S steps up to a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that increase horsepower to 181, with front- or all-wheel drive. Both S models come with a six-speed manual standard or optional six-speed automatic.
Later this fall the top-dog Mini Countryman will join the stable: the 2013 Mini Countryman John Cooper Works. The JCW package adds 30 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque to the S ALL4 model. It comes with a six-speed manual. A six-speed automatic is optional, making the Countryman the only Mini JCW model available with an automatic transmission.
Check out the video below and remember: don’t try this at home with any vehicle, even a Mini Countryman.
