Feature Flick: Is the R8 the Most Complete Supercar on the Road?

Although the Audi R8 has been around since 2008, Motor Trend’s Carlos Lago tests the 2012 model powered by the automaker’s 525-hp 5.2-liter V-10 engine simply because he wanted to.

Lago is impressed with the V-10 powered R8’s performance: 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds; quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at 122.1 mph; and a top speed of 196 mph. The R8’s handling and braking are just as impressive, but there is more to the R8 than just raw performance numbers.

The R8 has a custom-built feel, Lago says. With the R8’s top-notch performance, stunning looks, and ease of drivability, it might be the most complete supercar on the road today.

Check out the video below to decide if you agree with Lago’s assessment of the 2012 Audi R8 5.2 FSI on this Feature Flick. Share your thought in the comments below.

What does this car have exactly over the 458 Italia? Or a 911 Turbo? I mean, I love the R8. IMO Lamborghini shouldn't sell a single Gallardo as long as Audi is selling the R8. But everything great about this car is found in a number of other supercars. I think you just happened to have this one lying around and, since you've already reported on a dozen of these since 2008, you came up with this silly notion just to have another article to write.

I think the MP4-12C is the best and the most complete supercar in the world. @Carlos -- please justify the R8's performance numbers against the the McLaren -- I assure you U will not win in a single category -- including the drive / ride. It rides better than a Phantom !!
