Feature Flick: Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged vs The Dyno

How much power does a Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged really put to the rear wheels? Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) strapped one of its modified Ford F-150 SVT Raptors to a chassis dyno and found out. Go fast goodies on the VelociRaptor 600 Supercharged are built around supporting the TVS2300 supercharger. Airflow to and from the blown engine is assisted by an air-to-water intercooler, high-flow intake system, stainless steel long tube headers, high-flow catalytic converters, and a stainless steel cat-back exhaust. Fuel is supplied by larger fuel injectors managed by an HPE engine management calibration that is tuned on the chassis dyno and the street. A boost gauge and wheel and tire upgrade round out the performance modifications, to help boost the rear-wheel drive, Ford F-150 Raptor-based truck up to a 605-hp rating. Hennessey claims the nearly three-ton truck can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, and through the quarter-mile in 13.6 seconds at 103 mph; top speed is electronically limited to 110 mph because of the tire rating. Once strapped to the dyno, the boffins at HPE found out that the truck managed an impressive 479 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.
