Two Oregon businesses joined forces to create this video of an unusual drag race. Precision Helicopters brought along an MD500 helicopter, while RPM Rollbars proffered a modified Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 for a drag race on an empty runway.
The race was a simple there-and-back run to one end of the runway, before each competitor would turn around and race back to the start line. The challenge, of course, was that the helicopter would have to climb in order to make the turn at the end of the runway, while the muscle car could simply perform a quick powerslide to swap directions.
According to the video, the McDonnell Douglas MD500 helicopter seen here had 420 hp and weighed 1800 lbs, while the modified Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 had 490 hp (up from 470 hp in stock form) and tipped the scales at 3800 lbs. Which won the drag race? You'll have to watch the video to find out.
