Fredric Aasbo was the 2010 Formula Drift rookie of the year, which means one thing: he should be intimately familiar by now with the drifter's-delight Toyota GT 86/Scion FR-S. Luckily he is, and he took to Motor Trend's YouTube channel to show off his skills in the snow.
Aasbo is the star of this week's episode of The Downshift, where he mixes talk about the competitive (but welcoming) Formula Drift racing series with lots of actual drifting. In this case, he pilots a Toyota GT86 on a plowed frozen lake, pushing the compact rear-wheel drive car as sideways as it will go with studded tires and no traction control. If you're a fan of old Toyotas more than new ones, there's some gratuitous drifting shots featuring Aasbo's friend Fredrik Sorlie and his classic Toyota Cressida.
