Fiat is no stranger to making attention-grabbing commercials. Now, the Italian automaker is back at it again with this new ad for the 2013 500C Abarth.
If you were tantalized by Romanian supermodel Catrinel Menghia when she stared in the first Fiat 500 Abarth commercial, you’ll likely enjoy this. To help advertise the new drop-top version of the hotter Cinquecento, we are treated to Ms. Menghia lying on the beach in a bikini. What does a supermodel on the beach have anything to do with a new car? Well, it's that they can both be topless, of course.
Now, get your mind out of the gutter – Fiat would not be so crass as to show us something like that. Instead, one very sneaky (and cheeky) scorpion snips off Catrinel's bikini strap as the voice over tells us "Small. Wicked. And now, topless." Cue gratuitous driving shots of the 500C Abarth and plenty of tantalizing exhaust note from the turbocharged four-cylinder.
In case you forgot – or were too busy drooling over Catrinel – the 2013 500C Abarth is good for 160 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque from its 1.4-liter turbo-four. Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. This being a convertible, Fiat assures buyers that can go, ahem, fully topless at speeds up to 50 mph, or roll the roof back halfway at up to 60 mph.
The 2013 Fiat 500C Abarth will go on sale in the first quarter of next year. Pricing will be announced closer to its on-sale date, but the hardtop 500 Abarth starts at $22,700 after destination. Until then, just watch the ad below a couple of times to get your topless fix.
