After showing us the sexy convertible at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ferrari has now released a video showing off the new 458 Spider. While we’d already seen videos of the aluminum roof cleverly folding itself into the Ferrari’s trunk, this new video lets us watch the Spider blast along the Mediterranean coastline.
Aside from that roof, the 458 Spider is essentially identical to the Ferrari 458 Italia. That means motivation is courtesy of a 4.5-liter V-8 engine rated for 570 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. As the 458 Spider explores the Amalfai Coast along the southern edge of Italy, the video lets us once again revel in the car’s fantastic exhaust note. The Spider’s exhaust was, in fact, specially tuned so that it sounds even better when driving with the roof open.
The video shows a Ferrari convertible blasting along the Mediterranean Sea -- need we say more? Watch the video for yourself below, and be sure to turn up the volume for your recommended daily allowance of Italian V-8.
