Fashion and home furnishings designer Ralph Lauren is widely known for his incredible car collection, mostly consisting of rare models from Europe. And for the first time ever, he will exhibit a selection of his collection in Europe, showcasing the best examples of vehicles from the region.
The exhibit, The Art of the Automobile, Masterpieces from the Ralph Lauren Collection, will be on display at Paris’ Musée des Arts Décoratifs from April 28 to August 28, 2011. According to statement released by the museum, curator Rodolphe Rapetti chose 17 vehicles from Lauren’s collection that best “outline the main phases of European automobile history.” Some of those vehicles include a 1929 “Blower” Bentley, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, a Mercedes-Benz 300SL and the Jaguar “D Type” that won the Le Mans race three years in a row from 1955-1957.
