It's been said that when you lose one sense, the four remaining senses heighten. If you'd like to test out that theory, take a look at today's Feature Flick--a video of the Aston Martin Rapide S driving around, minus its strong engine note.
It's a bit disappointing that we don't get to hear exhaust bark, especially considering that the Rapide S is faster and more powerful than the base car. Thanks to a revised version of Aston Martin's 5.9-liter V-12 (that also powers the Vanquish), the Rapide S has 550 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque, and we'd imagine that the car sounds every bit as powerful as those numbers suggest.
Aston replaced the engine music with actual music, so we're left to watch the four-door supercar as it tears down switchback roads somewhere in western Europe. Thankfully, the Rapide S looks just as pretty (or even prettier) without exhaust noise. For that you can thank the car's larger grille aperture and taller lip spoiler. Then again, the Rapide was never what you'd call "unpretty."
Take a look for yourself and tell us what you think.
