The Grand Old Empire may not be the global force it once was, but it still builds some impressive machinery, and among its noteworthy accomplishments is the 2015 Aston Martin Vantage V12 S. Its 6.0-liter V-12 cranks out a formidable 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque routed through Aston's Sportshift III automated-manual single-clutch transmission built by racing transmission manufacturer Graziano. It may look right at home parked in front of the Grosvenor, but it's built to be driven.
Aston Martin released this six-minute video of its supercar lapping England's Silverstone Circuit, located halfway between Birmingham and London. The long straightaway stretches give the Aston ample room to stretch its legs and let the V-12 sing its full throaty song. The video also features a lower-third with a graphic representation of where the car is on the track, a G-meter, and a virtual speedometer. Short of the McLaren MP4-12C or P1, this might be the ultimate British car. Price? If you must ask, it's $187,820, including a $2825 destination charge and $3000 gas-guzzler tax.
Aston Martin says the Vantage V12 S is capable of a 3.7-second 0-60 time and 205 mph top speed. Watch the video below with play-by-play commentary from the 2015 Aston Martin Vantage V12 S romping around Silverstone below.
