We can't get enough of the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish. Now, with the even-more-stunning Vanquish Volante convertible, we have a second reason to drool over, pine for, and lust after Aston Martin's flagship. If you are like us, you'll enjoy this video of Aston's newest droptop.
In case you were worried that the Vanquish lost any of its exemplary attributes when it lost its top, fret not. The coupe's styling is actually enhanced without the roof – top-up, the roofline isn't quite as sleek thanks to the softtop, but the rest of the body's sinewy lines are more pronounced and the hips appear to bulge as though shrink-wrapped into an Armani bathing suit.
Also retained from the coupe are the 5.9-liter V-12 engine – good for 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque – the six-speed automatic transmission, and the 183-mph top speed. However, as you can hear in the video, the vociferous V-12 sounds absolutely spectacular. With the top down, it will be all the better to hear the 12-cylinder's intoxicating song.
Pricing for this octane-infused dream of a droptop starts at a grand $297,995 when the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante goes on sale at the start of next year. If you have the means, we'd say it's worth it. Until it's on sale – or, if like us, you'd need the decimal point moved over a few spots to even think of affording one – enjoy the video below.
