Feature Flick: 2013 Cadillac ATS Takes On "The World" In New Video Series

Cadillac has released the trailer for a new online video series called "Cadillac ATS vs. The World," which showcases the company's new sports sedan tackling demanding roads and race tracks around the globe. In addition to longer segments that will be shown on Cadillac's YouTube page, the carmaker will show 30- and 60-second clips during the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremonies on July 27.

The multi-part documentary was created by Joe Berlinger and Jeff Zwart, the latter both a filmmaker and a racing driver who was worked for BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz. Actor Ross Thomas hosts the show, while professional racer Derek Hill pilots the 2013 ATS in each of the clips.

For the documentary, the team drove the Cadillac ATS on windswept plains in Chile, through the hand-carved Guoliang Tunnel in China, along a 100-corner mountain pass in Morocco, and around the famed Grand Prix circuit in Monaco. The videos are designed to highlight the performance and design of the new ATS.

The Cadillac ATS starts at $33,990 (after destination). The base model has a 202-hp, 2.5-liter inline-four engine that will return 22/33 mpg. There also will be a 270-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, and a 321-hp, 3.6-liter V-6. The Cadillac ATS goes on sale later this year.
