Smart has teamed up with German fashion brand WeSC, to create a hip-looking Fortwo that debuted this week at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
WeSC (We are the Superlative Conspiracy) is a Stockholm-based skateboard-style clothing company that is working in collaboration with Smart and Brabus to create a fashion-forward Fortwo cabrio. The end result may end up helping the Smart car gain more street cred among a younger crowd.
This tailor-made cabrio is sprayed in special gold paint that appears to be partly matte, and partly high-gloss, while jet-black wheels, a quilted black leather interior, and black canvas roof complete the look. The WeSC emblem is stitched on the seats and also appears on the gauge faces.
The gold city slicker is expected to roll out next spring, and Brabus is taking advance orders. There’s no word yet on the price, but tune in for our Frankfurt coverage next week to find out.
The video below shows the making of the stylish Smart car, and while that gold-plated shift lever may catch your eye as it did ours, keep in mind it is a one-off and not made for production.
