Tuners pulled out all the stops for the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and Mercedes-Benz cars seem to be popular choice. On the heels of the Mansory CLS63 AMG and the Hamann Hawk Roadster comes this: the Fab Design SLS AMG Roadster.
As with most of these tuners, Fab Design tacked on everything it could for an outrageous exterior appearance. Up front, the SLS AMG Roadster now sports gaping air dams accented with vertical LED daytime running lamps. Even more dramatic are the wide front fenders, which include ginormous air vents behind the front wheels. Fab Design also widened the rear fenders to make room for the large wheels—tire size isn’t available, but it’s safe to assume the rims are north of 20 inches. A few wheel designs are available including two-tone red and silver units featured in the photos. Out back, the Fab Design SLS AMG Roadster gets a new rear bumper with vents below the taillights, a carbon fiber diffuser, and enlarged quad-tipped exhaust pipes. Topping off the exterior makeover is candy red paint with a matte finish.
Under the hood, the 6.2-liter V-8 has been tweaked to produce 615 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, up 52 hp and 111 lb-ft from the factory version.
Interior modifications are minor. Fab Design made gratuitous use of carbon fiber accent pieces for the door sills, steering wheel, lower seat trims, and air vent housings. The tuner also replaced the steering wheel’s three-pointed star with a Fab Design badge. Pricing for all this work isn’t available, but if you’re the owner of an SLS AMG Roadster looking to add some personality, you still have time to check out all the unique Benzes at the Geneva show.
