Thanks to new vinyl appearance packages and a Brabus-badged interior dress-up group, European customers have a few new ways to dress up their Smart ForTwo.
Smart owners have long been able to revise the color of their car by swapping removable body panels, but the color of the body frame -- either silver or black -- never changed. New vinyl graphic wraps, however, change that. Sporting several different colors and designs, the wraps start at the A-pillar, follow the Coupe's roofline to the B-pillar, extend down the length of the B-pillar's swage, and run into the rocker panels. Smart says the graphics can be installed by any of its European dealers in about an hour. Retail price for a kit is roughly $278.
German tuning firm Brabus has long offered a range of dress-up and performance accessories for the small Smart, but its latest offering -- an eight-piece interior appearance kit -- is rather mild. Trimmed in a carbon fiber pattern, the pieces help dress up the instrument cluster, door handles, center console, and steering column stalk. The kit runs roughly $391 -- a little steep, considering it isn't real CF weave.
Brabus also announced two new exterior lighting kits for the ForTwo. A modified LED third brake light, and LED driving lights are now available for $272 and $742, respectively. All modifications are reversible, and from what we can tell, are limited to the European market for the time being.
