2008 Acura Mdx Rear View

Read Joe DeMatio's comments on driving the 2008 Acura MDX.

Spent a three-day weekend in the MDX but only drove around town. I like this vehicle, just as I liked the first-generation version. It's good-looking, with taut sheetmetal and the distinctive new Acura front styling. Ingress/Egress are good. Good sightlines. Very handsome and comfortable interior, and the fold-flat third-row seats are usable enough for children and even adults for short hops. Good heated seats. Agree with Marc about the excessive number of buttons and switches on the center stack---I had my eyes off the road far too often trying to figure them out. Had to consult the owners manual to get an ambient temperature reading (hey, it was 4 degrees outside). No problems with powertrain---this V-6 is as good as anyone's and the transmission works well. I know what Marc is saying about the pseudo-sportiness, but I truly don't expect much sportiness in any crossover and neither I would argue do most buyers. There is, though, a slightly ham-fistedness to the way this car drives, although it's very subtle. Overall, it should please most owners. By the way, I appreciated the old-fashioned insert-key approach to starting the car, rather than a silly button.
