Chevrolet has already had plenty of sport-car-related news this year with the debut of the 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible, but it sounds like that's not all it has up its sleeve. According to the New York International Auto Show newsletter, and confirmed by Chevrolet, the bow-tie brand will also be rolling out a facelifted Camaro for 2014 during the New York show later this month.

Given that the Camaro has been on sale since 2009, it's due for its mid-cycle refresh. (Generally, one generation cycle is seven years, with a facelift around year four.) Chevrolet confirmed that we will, in fact, see the revised Camaro at New York, but couldn't comment on what to expect, other than aesthetic enhancements. The newsletter is mum on what we might see from the 2014 Camaro, only saying "The 2014 Camaro advances the design and performance attributes that have made it the most popular sports car under $50,000 for three consecutive years."

The Camaro actually saw a number of updates for the 2013 model year in the form of a revised center stack that incorporates a touchscreen and MyLink infotainment system and the addition of the high-performance ZL1 and 1LE models. The 2014 facelift to focus more on the car's cosmetics, potentially bringing the car's extroverted looks more in line with Chevrolet's new design language and, hopefully, a higher-quality interior.

We doubt the powertrain options will change much, if at all. That means buyers will be able to choose from a 323-hp 3.6-liter V-6, a 6.2-liter V-8 in 400-hp and 426-hp flavors, or a 580-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. Transmission options would likely remain unchanged, giving buyers the option of either a six-speed automatic or manual.

The 2014 Camaro will be joined by the 2014 SS sedan and Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible on the stand at the New York auto show at the end of this month. Stay tuned for more details.

Finally the Camaro will get a grille that doesn't look like part of the packing material it was shipped with.....a hidden headlight RS option would certainly be nice as well.
